My name is Derrick. I have always had a love for animals. This intense love for animals lead me to seek an occupation that would allow me the chance to acquire the knowledge/experience necessary to care for pets. I took my first step into the pet care industry in 2004; I worked as a kennel attendant and a vet assistant at a local veterinary clinic. During my tenure at the clinic my love for pets grew because it became clear to me just how much our furry friends depend on us to keep them healthy and happy. . After two years at the clinic I developed an infatuation with the grooming process. I enjoyed seeing the transformation of the pets and the smiles on pet-parents faces after seeing their babies freshly groomed. This motivated to begin my journey as a pet stylist. In May of 2006 I began working as a professional bather at a retail store which resulted in me going to pet grooming academy in February of 2007 and I've been sharpening my skills every since. I do my best to understand the individual needs of each pet because my goal is to keep the pets healthy which keeps the pet parents happy.
